Proposal Deadlines
The curriculum for both SoCo and Arts Intensive is typically finalized late in autumn quarter for the next September. At any point in the year, we are happy to discuss possibilities for the next 1 to 3 years. Many classes repeat from year to year, but we generally add 3-5 new courses each year.
Begin by having a conversation with the Sophomore College faculty director Lisa Surwillo and/or associate director Dayo Mitchell (email both). A formal written proposal can come after talking through your ideas and brainstorming how they might take shape in the context of a three-week immersive program, on- or off-campus.
Program Dates (based on future academic calendar dates)
The schedule is always the last three weeks before the academic year begins, often starting the day after Labor Day (but not always!). It is immersive for faculty as well as students, so it's important to carefully evaluate other conflicts for that time period.
- SoCo/Arts Intensive 2027: Monday 30 August through Friday 17 September (begins week before Labor Day)
- SoCo/Arts Intensive 2028: Tuesday 5 September through Friday 22 September
- SoCo/Arts Intensive 2029: Tuesday 4 September through Friday 21 September
- SoCo/Arts Intensive 2030: Tuesday 3 September through Friday 20 September
- SoCo/Arts Intensive 2031: Tuesday 2 September through Friday 19 September
- SoCo/Arts Intensive 2032: Monday 30 August through Friday 17 September (begins week before Labor Day)
